I was inspired to do this series of paintings of Pacific Islanders having attended Pasifika 09. The sounds, colours and tastes of the festival completely captivated me and the pride shown by the people of the various nations was almost tangible.  One of the paintings was a finalist in the 2010 Adam Portraiture Award at the New Zealand Portrait Gallery in Wellington.  I was also selected by Liz Caughey, author of the four Contemporary New Zealand Art books, to exhibit in the 2010 Braveheart Trust Art Exhibition
